"The coworkers I speak of are partying, cheating, cussing, and scamming scoundrels until it behooves them to state, “I am a believer”."

You hit the nail on the head, BGH.

In any group, there are wonderful folks and there are scoundrels. Both ends of the spectrum are included - Hard-core Christians and Atheists alike.

But I have to agree that it's truly annoying to hear these scoundrels pull the "I'm a Christian" card out of their hat, thinking it's some kind of trump card in a discussion.

I'm sorry that you've been exposed to mediocre Christianity. But as with all endeavors in life, its harder to find someone that is not mediocre than to find one that's simply just "along for the ride."

Nominal Christianity is terrible. I agree with you on that, but what about those who are trying to be more than nominal Christians? Can you respect them?

Just wondering your thoughts.

Unfortunately, the more people that don't get vaccinated create a higher risk for the rest of us. No vaccine is 100% effective for 100% of the people. So if only 50% of the population gets an H1N1 vaccine, that raises the risk for the other 50%.

What stuns me is that I've talked to parents who HAVE seen the reports of children that end up in ICU for a month and are convinced that if their child gets it, it'll just be like a regular bout of flu.
