What’s Up Dude?
Recent Beautiful Sunsets
Photos from a recent visit to Laumeier Sculpture Park after having lunch with an old friend. Still trying out the new lens, it might not have been the most versatile device for this particular trip but like I said, I am still trying to master it before hockey season commences.
Often stories crop up involving those of a religious mindset seeing images of The Virgin Mary, Jesus or some other religious figures such as recently passed away Popes in a variety of mediums. These images have appeared in grilled cheese sandwiches, stains on doors, the inside of sliced fruit and even in campfire flames such as one recent Pope sighting.
Well, I have captured what I think may be a message from skeptical advocate and scientist, Carl Sagan. There appears to be a question mark in the flame of this fire and the only ‘logical’ (snark) explanation could be that we are being asked to question everything. It is an indication that we must move away from blind faith and towards a more inquisitive nature…. anyhow, here is the picture.
Repetative Rebirth Of A Passion
I thought you might be interested in seeing some photos of a little younger BGH.
I rode and competed in BMX Freestyle most of my youth. At the same time tricks on a bmx bike were becoming their own sport, splitting off from the racing genre, I became interested. At twelve years old I was imitating the pros who were racing full time and just goofing around doing tricks on the side. Over the course of just a few years the sport grew so much that there were companies sending riders across the country on tours, paying them to do what they truly loved.
My riding improved enough to the point where my friends and I were competing and earning some sponsorship. This sport was truly my life and is still so much a part of me that I will never be able to fully let it go. I may be older now, “too old” some may say to be pedaling around a kid’s bike, but I was never one to let what others think is ‘appropriate’, influence my behavior very much I still have my bike and from time to time (not as often as I would like), I get it down from the rafters in the garage, air up the tires and hit the streets.
There have been few things in my life I have loved as much as being on my bike, while my bones are a little more creaky, my desire doesn’t let me down.
